VMware Workstation 3.2Features | Documentation | Knowledge Base | Discussion Forums The following sections describe how to install VMware Workstation on your Linux or Windows host system:
VMware Workstation is available for both Windows and Linux host computers. The installation files for both host platforms are included on the same CD-ROM. Your serial number allows you to use VMware Workstation only on the host operating system for which you licensed the software. If you have a serial number for a Windows host, you cannot run the software on a Linux host, and vice versa. To use VMware Workstation on a different host operating system - for example, to use it on a Linux host if you have licensed the software for a Windows host - purchase a license on the VMware Web site. You may also get an evaluation license at no charge for a 30-day evaluation of the software. For more information, see www.vmware.com/download/. To install on a supported Windows host computer, see Installing VMware Workstation 3.2 on a Windows Host. To install on a Linux host computer, see Installing VMware Workstation 3.2 on a Linux Host. If you are upgrading from a previous version of VMware Workstation, read Upgrading VMware Workstation before you begin. |
