Celebrating our People

VMwomen is an enterprise initiative to harness the power of human difference to drive great business outcomes for employees, customers and shareholders. It is led by CEO Pat Gelsinger; Chief People Officer (CPO), Betsy Sutter; and executed by the VMwomen Council, a group of VMware business leaders. Each organization and geography's action plan addresses how to influence our culture to grow female talent through recruitment, development and retention.

  • Be an employer of choice
  • Increase the representation of women so that VMware leads our industry
  • Grow women into senior business and technical leadership roles
  • Engage women and men to drive positive change
  • Develop women and girls as global leaders

VMwomen has fostered both personal growth and networking for me. It has also provided the opportunity to be mentored and to mentor others.

Diwali Bash

Diwali, meaning “Row of Lights”, is an Indian festival that is celebrated on the darkest day of the year. Diwali is heralded as the triumph of good over evil. This is a time filled with light and love, a time when Indians all over the world rejoice. VMware people began celebrating Diwali onsite at VMware headquarters in 2008 with an employee-led celebration during one of our weekly Friday Bashes. From Bollywood dancing, singing, a Rangolo competition and mouthwatering authentic Indian food, it’s an exciting annual tradition that unites our diverse employee community.
