Two versions of ZCS are available: the Open Source Edition and the Network Edition. The ZCS Network Edition is available to download as a free 60 day trial and features many powerful enhancements such as Outlook integration, real-time backup and restore, and mobile device OTA sync.

We are also pleased to announce beta availability of the ZCS Virtual Appliance; the package includes ZCS integrated with rPath Linux plus VMware. This highly optimzed appliance is easy to install and is certified by VMware; it is available as a trial or to pre-order (note we do not recommend running pre-GA software in production). This release contains many important enhancements and bug fixes, including:

Zimbra Collaboration Suite

• Support for an automated MySQL database corruption check that will send a notification to the admin
• Spam training enhanced by allowing programmatic scanning of folders without requiring a password
• Admins now can get backup and restore complete notifications sent via email
• .doc and .pdf files now open correctly in Zimbra Web Client
• A bug has been fixed so that iSync will not duplicate the calendar; also the iSync Connector now works correctly with Mac OS X 10.4.10
• Servers now automatically start after a ZCS upgrade

Zimbra Archiving and Discovery

• Web based cross-mailbox discovery is now generally available for the optional Zimbra Archiving and Discovery module
