Built-in Security Features 

Secure Onboarding

For secure onboarding tasks, including asset discovery, profiling and tracking, each gateway is enrolled using a unique username/password. A preassigned passphrase is used to decrypt enrollment staging packages.

Threat Containment

Pulse IoT Center allows you to wipe all enterprise data from devices if they are compromised. In future releases, Pulse will provide the ability to quarantine a gateway/IoT device for further investigation without impacting operations.

Automated Monitoring, Detection and Response

IoT apps, firmware or software patches/updates are delivered securely through Pulse IoT Center. Devices and edge gateways get over-the-air updates on secure channels.

Authentication and Authorization

Each gateway uses authorized Access Control Lists for ongoing communicating with the server to reduce spoofing. Device sessions use an HMAC-based authentication token for continued communication with the server.

Network Security

Pulse IoT Center provides active, real-time threat detection in partnership with third-party solutions. Future versions will incorporate micro-segmentation support with VMware NSX integration.
