See how VMware Cloud Providers service providers can now offer simple, cost-effective, cloud-based disaster recovery services.

BENEFITS

Easy to Operate

vCloud Availability makes it easy for service providers to run a disaster-recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) offering that is natively compatible with the end customer’s vSphere environment and across the provider vCloud Director Clouds.

Built for VMware Service Providers

Designed exclusively for VMware Cloud Providers service providers, the solutions are compatible with the VMware ecosystem. Service providers can further monetize their vCloud Director environments, while leveraging the VMware Cloud Providers pay-as-you-go purchasing construct in order to effectively grow consumption of software to meet customer demand.

Easy for Customers to Adopt and Grow

vCloud Availability for vCloud Director leverages native vSphere replication, supporting a 5-minute Recovery Point Objective with vSphere 6.5. VMware Cloud Provider Partners can offer seamless encrypted data failover and failback DR-as-a-service to their customers from the customer’s vCenter into the provider cloud.

Provider Ready

Service providers benefit from "Day 2" operations and automation from vRealize Operations plugins and vRealize Orchestration. Providers can monitor, view, and operate (via impersonation) their tenant cloud endpoint replications. They can provide managed disaster recovery operations on behalf of a tenant, giving customers the option to outsource their disaster recovery service.

New: vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR

vCloud Availability for Cloud-to-Cloud DR provides replication and failover capabilities for vCloud Director workloads at both the VM and vApp level. It delivers:

  • Replication and recovery of vApps (VMs) between two vCloud Director instances for migration, DR, and planned migration use cases
  • Complete self-serviceability for the provider and tenant administrator via a unified HTML5 portal that can be used alongside vCloud Director. Replication, migration, and failover can be managed completely by the tenant or provided as a managed service by the provider
  • A simplified and streamlined architecture to support vCloud Director 8.20, 9.0, and 9.1 while supporting vSphere 6.0U3 and 6.5U1
  • Enhanced control with white-listing of DR-enabled vCloud Director organizations, enforcement of specific min RPO at an org level, maximum snapshots per org and max replications per tenant
  • Public API allowing service providers to integrate DR workflow and management into their business systems for operational automation or service usage
  • Plugins for Day 2 operational monitoring and management within vRealize Operations and plugins for vRealize Orchestrator, allowing creation and execution of DR runbooks
