Enhancements and Changes to VMware Support Options
On January 22, 2010, VMware made some changes to its support options. We adjusted the names of the Gold and Platinum offerings to more accurately reflect the level of support customers receive.
Note: There are no changes to program features or pricing associated with these name changes.
Production Support is for production environments, where 24 x 7 uptime and support is required.
Basic Support is for non-production environments, where 12 x 5 support is acceptable.
