  • VMware Validated Design for Software-Defined Data Center 4.2
    • Provides an updated Software Bill of Materials (BOM) with guidance to upgrade from VMware Validated Design 4.1.
    • Introduces guidance for implementing a dual-region SDDC with multiple availability zones. Availability zones enhance resiliency of the SDDC by establishing separate fault domains within the protected region and leveraging vSAN stretched clustering to distribute workloads and protect against data loss in the event of a zone outage.
    • Includes an updated naming scheme for workload domains and tenant accounts along with an improved SDDC deployment order. Monitoring capabilities of the SDDC are now deployed earlier, ensuring the SDDC operations and monitoring tools can be more effectively used during later stages of the deployment.
    • Customers who are looking to build a complete SDDC on the #1 HCI platform can now use VxRail as a building block and the guidance of VMware Validated Designs 4.2 to more easily and safely architect an SDDC with complete NSX and vRealize functionality.
