T-Mobile deploys digital workspace for improved effectiveness
At T-Mobile, the central end-user services department’s 4500 users include 1600 employee desktops and 400 contractors. There was a problem with maintaining full corporate network availability for all employees. Capacity reasons also required some departments to share workstations and PCs. Working from home was only possible with a corporate computer via VPN. The company used VMware Horizon 7 for central provisioning, management and security of virtual desktops and applications that run locally on Mac and PC computers, while introducing controls that follow corporate policies for a safe bring-your-own-device (BYOD) model and streamlining Windows 10 deployment.
“The transition to VDI has enabled us to increase effectiveness for all employees, improve call centre service quality and agility, and accelerate response to Windows issues.”
