Haarlem is a city in the province of North Holland. Its municipality provides vital services to its citizens, such as issuing official documents (a passport or identity card and a driver’s license) and issuing benefits to those who cannot provide for themselves. The municipal data center and workplace environment were very outdated and did not provided a good basis to shape the further digitization of the municipality. After implementing VMware Cloud Foundation and VMware Workspace ONE, the municipality of Haarlem took a five-year leap forward in its digital transformation goals. As a result, the employee experience has improved and the municipality meets the expectations of citizens – now and in the future.
