VMware IT Academy Program

VMware IT Academy enables instructors at academic institutions to deliver authorized VMware courses in a variety of settings. Students can jump-start their career and VMware knowledge with coursework through a global network of colleges and universities, and through online certification opportunities, hands-on labs, and other VMware learning resources.

Institutions: Why IT Academy

The VMware IT Academy is an educational program focused on building the IT skills of secondary and post-secondary students.  IT Academy provides resources for educators who deliver authorized VMware courses.
NOTE: Courses are not intended for non-academic purposes, such as training campus IT staff or delivering for-profit training to a professionals.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Accredited, degree-granting higher education institutions worldwide that offer 2-, 3- or 4-year programs (or equivalent)
  • Career or technical schools offering accredited degrees or certificates through in-person or distance education programs
  • Can be offered through continuing education and workforce development.
  • Secondary education (ages 14-17)

Instructors: Deliver Next-Generation IT Skills

Build your virtualization expertise and teach emerging technology skills as an IT Academy instructor. Take advantage of a variety of VMware software education resources, including self-paced courses, presentations, and training.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Full or part-time instructors at an eligible institution
  • There are no formal qualifications required to teach a VMware IT Academy course, however, we provide certification exam vouchers and strongly encourage instructors to become certified

Cloud and Virtualization Concepts

  • Upon completion of this micro-course, the learner will be aware of the basics of virtualization and the data center. The learner will be able to set up and manage a virtual machine.
  • Provides the basic concepts related to virtualization, the software-defined data center, and cloud computing.
  • Introduces what is a virtual machine and the benefits of before virtualization and after virtualization.
  • Overview of the key concepts related to the data center, the virtual data center, types of cloud computing and VMware Virtualization solutions.

 

Network Virtualization Concepts

  • Provides an overview of the key concepts related to network virtualization and the software-defined data center.
