Customer Stories
Learning about VMware, a global leader in virtualization and the cloud through VMware IT Academy UPS was of great importance, mainly because of the professional area in which I work, therefore, acquiring knowledge in the virtualization of a Data Center is important to improve skills in the IT framework.
VMware IT Academy has provided VMware Canada with great opportunities to use technology as a force for good, helping us build IT capacity with Indigenous communities, post-secondary institutions, and governments across the country. These partnerships have created new relationships for our public sector sales team, while giving back to communities.
The VMware Software Licensing Program has provided valuable software for me to demonstrate software-defined data center and the private cloud infrastructure in the classroom.
Having been part of VMware IT Academy, opened the door to a lot of knowledge in virtualization that was out of my reach, besides that, thanks to my effort, I could get an official VMware digital badge that certifies my acquired knowledge.
VMware software enables our students, researchers, and partners to connect to realistic emulated environments to conduct experiments isolated from actual production networks. This allows for users to run emulated actions on advanced industrial control topologies without any danger of disrupting operations.
VMware has a long history of working closely with colleges and universities, beginning with our founders who pioneered virtual machines at Stanford University, to our partnerships today that help students build the capabilities to advance their careers and the field of IT overall.
The VMware Academic Program has allowed us to infuse virtualization into almost everything we teach by providing us full access to their virtualization software for student use. For one low annual flat rate we have each student using what would amount to tens of thousands of dollars in licensed software. It’s just incredible!
As the demand for IT professionals with datacenter virtualization skills increases, it is essential to distinguish yourself in the market with a certification that validates your technical capabilities. Students attending our VMware course become a VMware Certified Professional. Getting a certification can be completely life-changing.
We rely on the VMware Academy Program to teach private and hybrid cloud trainings. We couldn’t afford to be doing this without their generous support, allowing us to provide students cutting edge, hands-on experience around their technologies.
