Azure VMware Solution combines the VMware infrastructure enterprises rely upon with the agility, scale, and geographic reach of Azure. Azure VMware Solution is delivered as an Azure service on scalable, bare-metal Azure nodes dedicated to your workloads. This offering can be purchased On-Demand or as 1-year or 3-year Reserved Instances. For the On-Demand option, billing is at the end of the month in arrears. With 1-year or 3-year Reserved Instances, you can choose to prepay upfront or pay monthly. Reserved Instances provide up to 50% cost savings compared to On-Demand hosts consumed over the equivalent period. The minimum required Azure VMware Solution configuration is a 3-node cluster of the same type nodes. Above the minimum, nodes can be added or removed in 1-node increments.

Azure VMware Solution pricing includes:
- VMware software: vSphere, vSAN, NSX, vCenter Server, HCX
- Dedicated Azure bare-metal hardware nodes
- Support and lifecycle management by Microsoft (updates, patches, and upgrades)
- 99.9% Service Level Agreement (SLA) from Microsoft

On-Demand Pricing
On-Demand consumption allows you to pay for physical hosts by the hour. There are no upfront costs, and you have the flexibility to scale the number of hosts up or down without long-term commitments. You only pay for each hour that the host is active in your account. If you choose the On-Demand option, you will be billed at the end of the month in arrears.
Reserved Instance Pricing
Committing to 1-year or 3-year Reserved Instance host subscription can save up to 50% compared to On-Demand hosts consumed over the equivalent period. With 1-year or 3-year Reserved Instances, you can choose to prepay upfront or pay monthly.
