This document supplements both the VMware Privacy Policy located at https://www.vmware.com/help/privacy.html (the “VMware Privacy Policy”) and the data privacy and protection terms in any contract that you might have with VMware.
VMware respects the privacy of our customers and their end users. VMware has created this Privacy Supplement to help you to understand what personal information we receive and how your personal information is used. This Privacy Supplement applies to data collected by VMware through the My VMware mobile application (the "Service").
The Service is developed, marketed and supported by VMware, Inc. and its affiliates (“VMware”) for use by enterprises or other organizations, for example your employer (“Your Organization”), and its individual representatives, employees, customers or other users, including you. The Service allows you to access your My VMware account to review your licenses, users and permissions, support requests and alerts.
VMware does not control how you interact with your My VMware account. To update, edit or delete the information stored in your My VMware account, you must access your My VMware account at: https://my.vmware.com.
While the Service allows you to access your data stored in your My VMware account, as a general matter, the Service does not collect data from you or your device, with a few exceptions, including the following three exceptions:
- To protect your security and the security of your account, before displaying the contents of your account, the Service may ask you to sign into your account using your username and password.
- Like many mobile applications, the Service may receive anonymized analytics about your device and your use of the Service. Specifically, the anonymous analytics may include technical information and statistical information, such as: a dynamic session ID, which version of the Service you are using, with which screens and functions in the Service you may interact, information about your device including its model and operating system, and how many times you may launch the Service.
- VMware may receive access to technical and personal data if you or Your Organization asks us to assist with technical support cases and, for example, if you choose to sends us log files, customer support data or crash reports (collectively, “Crash Reports”). Crash Reports may contain information from the Service as well as other applications and tools located on your device, and we recommend that you always consider the context of your Crash Reports before sending them to VMware, Your Organization or any third party.
