Guido Appenzeller Chief Technology Strategy Officer, Networking and Security, VMware
Guido is the Chief Technology Strategy Officer for networking and security at VMware. Previously, he was founder of Big Switch Networks, where he led the company for four years as CEO.
He previously founded and was CTO at Voltage Security. From 2008 to 2010, Guido was a Consulting Assistant Professor at Stanford University and the head of the Clean Slate Lab. Guido was named a top Technology Leader on the MIT TR35, a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, and was nominated as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs by Goldman Sachs. He holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and M.S. from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
