VMware is announcing the End of Availability (EoA) of all SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) for VMware offerings on June 25, 2014. As a result, the SLES for VMware offering will be removed from the VMware price list on July 25, 2014. After this date, customers that purchase VMware vSphere Standard, vSphere Enterprise, or vSphere Enterprise+ (either standalone or as part of a suite) will no longer be eligible to a free SLES for VMware offering.
Customers are not required to take any immediate action. This notification in no way impacts customer's ability to use SLES for VMware past June 25, 2014.
Customers who are running SLES for VMware 11, SP3 will continue to receive patches and updates for SLES for VMware 11 SP 3 for 6 months after the release of SLES 11, SP4. To continue receiving patches and updates for SLES for VMware 11, SP3 after SLES 11, SP4 is released customers will need to purchase Long Term Service Pack Support.
Long Term Service Pack Support allows you to maintain your current operating system version as long as possible, preserving both the stability and security of your data center, as you transition from one service pack version to the next. Long Term Service Pack Support includes delivery of patches and updates of SLES for VMware 11, SP3 for 12 months, fixes for critical security issues and severity level 1 and 2 defects.
