Enhanced Application Performance and Seamless Hybrid Cloud Experience

Enhanced Application Performance and Availability
Run Applications on Any Device, On Any cloud.
Run both traditional and modern applications with the performance and availability needed to boost your business productivity. Deliver exceptional performance for a variety of workloads by taking advantage of the latest hardware innovations in the industry. With vSphere, you can upgrade performance with capabilities that allow you to balance workloads for optimal performance and prioritize access to resources for tier 1 apps. Increase operational efficiency through centralized management and automation of routine tasks. Rapidly provision and deploy workloads in your virtual environment. Configure your servers and virtual switches once and apply settings to entire virtual environment. Eliminate downtime by migrating workloads live not just across servers, but also across clusters, clouds, and over long distances.

Seamless Hybrid Cloud Experience
Run, Manage, Connect, and Secure Applications in A Common Operating Environment, Across the Hybrid Cloud.
With the fast adoption of vSphere-based public clouds through VMware Cloud Provider Program partners, VMware Cloud on AWS, as well as other public cloud providers, VMware is committed to delivering a seamless hybrid cloud experience for customers. vSphere 6.7 delivers key new capabilities for easy visibility, migration and management of workloads between on-premises and VMware Cloud on AWS, for a truly seamless hybrid cloud experience. vSphere has new capabilities that provide you unified visibility and management across your hybrid cloud. Seamlessly migrate and provision your VMs between on-premises data centers and VMware Cloud on AWS. With vSphere, you can easily adopt new public cloud capabilities without disrupting or burdening your on-premises environments.

Load Balancing

Ensure Performance with Predictive Load Balancing

Eliminate Downtime for Mission Critical Applications
Get continuous availability for applications (with up to 4 virtual CPUs) in the event of server failures with vSphere Fault Tolerance (FT). It creates shadow instance of a VM that is always up to date with the primary VM. If there’s a hardware outage, vSphere FT automatically triggers failover, then creates a new secondary machine to deliver continuous protection of the application. FT is compatible with all types of shared storage and all operating systems supported by vSphere.

Prioritize Resources to Virtual Machines
vSphere Network I/O Control (NIOC) and vSphere Storage I/O Control (SIOC) monitors your network and storage and automatically shifts resources to your high-priority applications according to the rules and policies you’ve set up. It extends the familiar constructs of shares and limits, which exist for CPU and memory, to address network or storage utilization through a dynamic allocation of I/O capacity across a cluster of vSphere hosts. It increases administrator productivity by reducing active performance management.
Rapid Deployment and Provisioning

Accelerated Graphics for Virtual Machines
NVIDIA GRID® vGPU provides exceptional graphics performance for virtual desktops, equivalent to local PCs when sharing a GPU among multiple users. GRID vGPU is the industry's most advanced technology for sharing true GPU hardware acceleration between multiple virtual desktops—without compromising the graphics experience. Application features and compatibility are exactly the same as they would be at the desk. With GRID vGPU technology, the graphics commands of each virtual machine are passed directly to the GPU, without translation by the hypervisor. This allows the GPU hardware to be time-sliced to deliver the ultimate in shared virtualized graphics performance.

Turbo Application Performance
Rev up application performance with vSphere Persistent Memory. With this feature, IT administrators can expose persistent memory, either as lightning-fast storage with high IOPS or by exposing it to the guest operating system as non-volatile memory. This greatly enhances OS and application performance across a variety of use cases. Existing applications run faster and businesses can support new use cases, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence workloads.
Run Workloads in Containers

Easily Manage Containerized Workloads

Run Workloads in Containers
Live Migration of Workloads
vSphere vMotion allows you to move an entire running virtual machine from one physical server to another, without downtime. The virtual machine retains its network identity and connections, ensuring a seamless migration process. Transfer the virtual machine's active memory and precise execution state over a high-speed network, allowing the virtual machine to switch from running on the source vSphere host to the destination vSphere host. This entire process takes less than two seconds on a gigabit Ethernet network. This capability is possible over virtual Switches, vCenter Servers, and even long distances.
Proactively Protect Workloads
Utilizing high priority hardware alerts to proactively move workloads off servers that have telltale signs of potential host failures. The hardware will notify vSphere of potential problems along with remediation steps. Based upon user policy settings, DRS will respond by using vMotion to move the virtual machines from the alerting server to safe servers and put the problematic server into maintenance mode.
