Zane C. Rowe serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of VMware, and is responsible for the company’s overall finance and accounting functions, as well as business operations, investor relations and strategic sourcing. Rowe leads the Strategy and Corporate Development team, where he is responsible for aligning strategy and long-term planning across VMware businesses as well as managing the company's mergers and acquisitions, and strategic investments. Rowe also leads the Real Estate and Workplace organization, which manages over 100 VMware sites worldwide. Prior to joining VMware, Rowe held the role of executive vice president and chief financial officer at EMC.
Rowe has spent over 20 years in executive roles at a variety of multinational corporations spanning multiple industries. Prior to his role at EMC, Rowe led North America sales for Apple Inc., where he was responsible for the consumer channel as well as the enterprise and education segments. Rowe began his executive career in the airline industry, initially at Continental Airlines where he rose to executive vice president and chief financial officer, then as executive vice president and chief financial officer of United Continental Holdings, Inc.
Rowe holds a bachelor of science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an MBA from San Diego State University.
He currently serves on the board of Sabre Corporation, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
