VMware Horizon Client is software that allows you to connect your VMware Horizon virtual desktop to a device of choice, giving you on-the-go access from any location. Clients are available for Windows, Mac, iOS, Linux, Chrome and Android at my.vmware.com.
VMware Horizon allows you to set up and manage a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). This is achieved by creating and provisioning desktop pools for centralized management. For more information on setting up VDI using Horizon, see the Horizon Documentation Center.

VMware Horizon is not a virtual private network (VPN). It uses a unified access gateway (UAG) to allow secure remote access to Horizon. It does support remote access to desktops and apps via a VPN, but a VPN is not generally required. For more information, read the blog post.
