“The rise of application platform and the new role of the infrastructure engineer.” by Emad Benjamin, Sr. Director & Chief Technologist
Emad Benjamin has spent the past 25 years in various software engineering positions involving the development of application platforms and distributed systems for industries such as finance, health, IT, and heavy industry. During his 15 years at VMware. Emad spent 5 years developing various application platforms and 8 years working with VMware customers as part of worldwide escalation team, focusing on scalability and performance tuning. Since Emad joined VMware’s Office of the CTO two years ago, he has focused on building hybrid cloud distributed runtimes that are application aware.

Amanda Blevins leads the Office of the CTO Global Field Programs. She enables customers and partners to achieve business objectives by co-creating a comprehensive technology strategy with executive leaders. She focuses on cloud, edge and emerging technologies. Amanda collaborates with R&D Business Units to ensure VMware’s portfolio meets the strategic needs of customers and the industry. She is passionate about innovation and enabling cross-functional teams. Amanda has been in the IT field for over 25 years in various infrastructure operations and architecture roles. She joined VMware in 2010 and a few years later became VMware’s first female Principal Systems Engineer.
