Supporting Integrated Healthcare While Enabling Remote Work
The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT) is one of six healthcare trusts in Northern Ireland. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it needed to accelerate its vision for integrated, community-based healthcare by increasing remote working capabilities. A long-time VMware customer, SEHSCT had already deployed VMware Horizon and VMware Workspace ONE, and working with VMware partner, Asystec, it was able to scale these solutions rapidly. Horizon was put in place as an alternative to the traditional ‘PC on a cart’, with an Imprivata ID card system to make logging in and out more efficient and secure. In addition, Workspace ONE was used to manage disparate devices, including laptops, tablets, and phones.
