VMware Once Again a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Hyperconverged Infrastructure Software, November 2021
VMware, for the fifth time, is positioned as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure Software (HCIS). We believe hyperconverged infrastructure software is the critical foundation for a hybrid cloud architecture for traditional and modern applications, as HCI has expanded beyond compute and storage to include a complete set of software-defined services for compute, storage, networking, security and cloud management. HCIS incorporates all major data center functions, delivering a single, ubiquitous control plane from the core data center to cloud and the edge.
We believe this recognition is reflective of both our continuing execution and leading vision. Just in the last year, VMware hyperconverged infrastructure has added new deployment flexibility with HCI Mesh™, a software-defined approach to compute and storage disaggregation, and expanded our native file services capabilities and Tanzu integration. In addition, we believe customers are reaping the benefits of the hybrid cloud due to VMware’s partnerships with all major global hyperscalers and hundreds of service provider partners. VMware Cloud Foundation enables our customers to use consistent infrastructure and operations for traditional virtual machines as well as Kubernetes-orchestrated containers with VMware Tanzu integration across clouds.
