Accelerating Hybrid Cloud: VMware vSAN vs. Fibre Channel SAN

Hyperconverged infrastructure has become increasingly common for most IT deployments, and for good reason: it provides high performance storage on industry-standard servers, scales granularly to meet application needs and provides a hybrid cloud ready platform. In 2020, VMware improved the scalability of hyperconverged infrastructure by launching VMware HCI Mesh™, a software-based approach to compute and storage disaggregation for vSAN powered hyperconverged infrastructure, which enables HCI clusters to share storage non-HCI compute clusters. In this study, Evaluator Group found that HCI Mesh lowered storage operational costs up to 73% less per year as compared to fibre channel external storage. They found that some of HCI Mesh’s biggest savings come from reductions in: - Storage management tasks - Storage performance monitoring and remediation tasks - Recovery and availability management Please submit your information to view the full report and see how VMware HCI Mesh can accelerate your IT operations.
