Luigi Freguia joined VMware in 2014 and has responsibility for strategic planning, business operations, go-to-market strategy, and management of VMware’s business in EMEA.

Prior to this role, Freguia was the vice president for VMware’s Central EMEA Region, responsible for driving business growth, sales and operations across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Russia/CIS countries, Israel and Eastern Europe.

Freguia has more than 35 years’ experience in working with some of the largest technology companies in the world including Oracle, Microsoft, HP and IBM. He began his career at IBM, where he held various positions in international management over 20 years, including Vice President for EMEA.

Luigi holds a degree in electrical engineering, with a focus on telecommunications from the University of Rome.
