The strategic partnership between VMware® and Amazon Web Services (AWS) helps customers adopt hybrid cloud to increase flexibility and reduce cost while leveraging their existing IT investments and expertise in a unique manner. As global workloads accelerate from 160 million today to 596 million by 2030, the need for greater agility and global deployment options have driven customers toward public cloud. They recognize the benefit of having their public cloud integrate and work seamlessly with their on-premises infrastructure.
Enterprises are accelerating adoption of AWS Cloud and VMware solutions, and want the ability to integrate their on-premises data center environments with AWS Cloud within a common operating environment based on their familiar VMware software.
VMware and AWS meet this need by providing a unified infrastructure that bridges the gap between private and public cloud while maximizing their investments. This solution creates a services-oriented IT model that scales to meet any business demand while reducing the time spent on infrastructure and freeing IT to concentrate on innovation.
VMware Cloud on AWS is an on-demand service that enables you to run applications across vSphere-based cloud environments with access to a broad range of AWS services. Powered by VMware Cloud Foundation, this service integrates VMware vSphere, VMware vSAN, and VMware NSX along with VMware vCenter management, and is optimized to run on dedicated, elastic, bare-metal AWS infrastructure. With this service, IT teams can manage their cloud-based resources with familiar VMware tools.
