• Place an order with VMware for one of the three options:
  • VMware vSphere 4 Enterprise Plus with Cisco Nexus 1000V
    
  • Upgrade: VMware vSphere 4 Enterprise Plus with Cisco Nexus 1000V
    
  • Cisco Nexus 1000V for VMware vSphere 4 Enterprise Plus
    
• Retrieve your Product Activation Key (PAK) code for the Cisco Nexus 1000V Software by either:
  
  • Reviewing the Product Licensing Order Confirmation email you received from VMware containing the Cisco PAK code for the Cisco Nexus 1000V license.
    
  • Viewing the order you placed with VMware on the Order History under Accounts once logged into My VMware.
    
• Download the Cisco Nexus 1000V software from the Cisco website.
• Create an account on the Cisco Website, if you do not already have one.
• Register your PAK code at the Cisco website and follow the licensing instructions from Cisco to activate the Cisco Nexus 1000V software.

You may download the Cisco Nexus 1000V software from the Cisco website.

• You should have received a Product Licensing Order Confirmation email from VMware. This email will contain the Cisco PAK code for the Cisco Nexus 1000V license.

• You can view the original order on the Order History under Accounts once logged into My VMware and find the PAK code in the order information.

You will need to create an account on the Cisco website, if you do not already have one.

The Cisco Nexus 1000V software is a separate download and separate license, both of which are provided by Cisco. To activate the license, please visit the Cisco Licensing website. Be sure to have your PAK code available.

If you have purchased the Cisco Nexus 1000V software and a VMware Support and Subscription agreement, technical support is provided by VMware. You may log a Support Request online or you may call your local VMware Support Center.

VMware is offering Production and Basic support.

If you have a VMware Support and Subscription (SnS) agreement and you encounter an issue with the Cisco Nexus 1000V product, you may file the request under VMware vSphere ESX.
