VMware and Trango
Acquired in October 2008
Trango built real-time hypervisors and development tools for embedded systems. They developed virtualization software that lets a single mobile phone run several operating systems at the same time.
VMware's vision of giving customers secure access to their applications and virtual desktops from any device, anywhere includes mobile phones. VMware's Mobile Virtualization Platform (MVP), built on technology acquired from Trango, lets users run multiple profiles on a single phone, each isolated from the other.
