Raj Yavatkar joined VMware in 2013 and serves as the Chief Architect for Converged Infrastructure. He is responsible for driving Converged Infrastructure strategy for private and hybrid clouds as well as developing solutions that bring together Software-Defined Data Center and Converged Infrastructure technologies. Prior to VMware, Yavatkar was an Intel Fellow with a strong track record of inventing new technologies and leading technical teams to translate technical strategies into products. Yavatkar led Intel's efforts in the areas of networking systems, systems (hardware and software), and System-on-Chip architecture. Raj also was the principal co-inventor of the Active Manageability Technology that eventually turned into the Intel vPro brand.Yavatkar is an IEEE Fellow, holds more than 30 patents, has co-authored five Internet standards, and published more than 60 research papers.
Yavatkar received a PhD from Purdue University in Computer Science, a Masters of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics Engineering from the Institute of Technology, BHU.
