VMware Named to FORTUNE’s 2016 “Best Companies to Work For” List
Today, VMware received a prestigious and public acknowledgement of our great workplace as one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For. The competition was fierce, and VMware took the no. 40 spot.
This is the second time in a row VMware has received this designation. Not only was VMware ranked in the top
100 companies overall, but we were also recognized as no. 8 out of companies located in the San Francisco Bay Area, no. 7 out of technology companies on the list.
Over the years, Fortune has come to define a great workplace as one where employees trust the people they work for, have pride in the work they do, and enjoy the people they work with. The “Best Companies to Work For” list is based on information captured through an employee survey and “culture audit” which are designed to measure the extent to which employees experience trust, pride, and camaraderie in the workplace.
So why is VMware a “Great Place to Work?” The scope and depth of passion our people have to drive what’s next for the company, each other, and the wider community. And without a doubt, it is this spirited passion that continues to shape VMware’s business operations and the dynamic and diverse culture that we know today.
Over the years, VMware has developed a deeply rooted people-driven culture that centers on our EPIC2 values (Execution, Passion, Integrity, Customers, Community). And it’s because of our people, who bring those values to action in their every day lives at work, that I believe VMware received this highly coveted recognition.
I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our employees for not only recognizing VMware as a great place to work but also for truly living and breathing VMware’s EPIC2 values every day. Much of what makes VMware special comes from our people – grass roots efforts that have evolved and are now part of our business operation and unique culture. In short, our unique culture is a reflection of who our people are. And it’s nothing short of Great.
