John Sabino is VMware’s Chief Customer Experience Officer and leads the Customer Experience and Success (CXS) organization including the Customer Success, Professional Services, Learning, and Global Support teams. John joined VMware in October 2021 bringing more than 25 years of experience spanning strategic operations, commercial operations, and sales.
Prior to joining VMware, John was Splunk’s Chief Customer Officer where he led the Customer Success organization including Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Education Services, Global Support, CSM & Best Practices, and Renewals functions. During his tenure as Splunk’s CCO, John was responsible for leading the company through its journey to a SaaS-based revenue and operations model while maintaining its expansive installed base.
Before joining Splunk, John was the Chief Operating Officer for GE Digital where he was responsible for all commercial strategy, processes, technology, and analytics and also held similar senior executive roles at GE Capital and NBC Universal driving their digital transformation journey. John also served as a captain in the United States Army where he led military operations at the platoon, company, and battalion levels.
John graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. When John is not spending time with his team or customers, you can find him and his family engaged in a variety of outdoor sports including surfing, skiing, hiking, playing lacrosse and horseback riding.
