Important information regarding the Continuent acquisition:

 

VMware announced on October 25, 2016, the Continuent software offering, which includes VMware Continuent for Clustering and an open source-based VMware Continuent for Replication, has spun out into an independent company, Continuent, Ltd.

Continuent will continue to offer support for existing customers as well as continue to invest in additional technology offerings. At the same time, VMware will focus its vCloud Air efforts, as a component of VMware’s overall cloud strategy, on the targeted use-cases (data center extension, data center replacement and disaster recovery) that make vCloud Air appealing.
