Note that IT Business Management Standard Edition 1.1 does not support vCloud Automation Center 6.0.

    Cost Analysis

    • Data center awareness - You can select a data center and view or edit the cost information specific to the data center. IT Business Management Standard Edition 1.1 categorizes and displays the information according to the data center that you have selected.
    • Distribute VDP backup cost - The cost of each vSphere Data Protection (VDP) virtual machine that is used for backup service is uniformly distributed among other virtual machines that reside in the same vCenter Server.
    • Cost of RDM service - The cost of Raw Device Mapping (RDM) storage details is considered during cost calculations and the RDM cost is accounted under the virtual machine storage cost.
    • Upload CSV to update server purchase details - You can create a batch for each server hardware entry by uploading a CSV file containing your server cost details. After you upload the CSV file, a batch of type as mentioned in the CSV file is added to the corresponding matched server group. The reference cost and batch cost is updated accordingly.

      The following issues have been resolved in this release of this IT Business Management Standard Edition release.

    • If you click Print on the Overview page, the contents are not displayed properly.

    • Known Issues and Limitations

      The following limitations and issues are known to occur in this IT Business Management Standard Edition release:

    • When using Internet Explorer 9, if you click Print on the IT Business Management Standard Edition Overview page, the contents are not displayed properly.
      Workaround: Use a different browser such as Internet Explorer 10 or Mozilla Firefox.
    • After you upgrade IT Business Management Standard Edition from version 1.0 or 1.0.1 to version 1.1, re-registration with vCloud Automation Center fails.
      Workaround: To resolve the issue, perform the following steps:
      1. Log into IT Business Management Standard virtual appliance with the root credentials.
      2. Open the catalina.properties file located at /usr/local/tcserver/vfabric-tc-server-standard/itbm-server/conf/.
      3. Copy the SSL keystore password specified in the bio-ssl.ssl.keystore.password parameter.
      4. Using the vi command, open the following files located at /usr/sbin/ and replace the SSL keystore password set in the -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=keystore.password.to.be.replaced \ property for each file.
        • itfm-config
        • itfm-config-unregister
        • itfm-config-getinfo
    • If you edit the reference cost and then change it back to its original value, the legend still shows the message Costs have been manually entered.
    • If you migrate ESXi hosts from one vCenter Server to another vCenter Server without deleting the ESXi hosts from the first vCenter Server, IT Business Management Standard Edition duplicates the cost of hosts because the cost of host is considered once from the source vCenter Server and once from the target vCenter Server.
      Workaround: To avoid duplication of costs,you delete the ESXi hosts from the vCenter Server after migration.
    • If you move an ESXi host from the data center level to a cluster level under the same data center where the ESXi host is present, duplicate entries ESXi host appear in the Server Generations section under Operational Analysis tab.
      Workaround: Restart the IT Business Management Standard Edition server.
    • If users are granted permission to perform a new task, they may find that they are unable to complete the task.
      Workaround: After being granted new permissions, log out and then log back in to confirm the change.
    • When a client machine is suspended and then restored after 7 or 8 hours of inactivity, the user sees an error message about a malformed security token shell.
      Workaround: Reload the application to restore functionality.
    • When you try to connect to a vSphere or vApp provisioned resource with Internet Explorer, you see an error message indicating that the virtual machine is not powered on or is not available on the network.
      Workaround:
        1. Log in to the Internet Information Services (IIS) machine as administrator, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\vCAC\Server\Website\VMRC folder, and open vmrc.js with a file editor.
        2. Search the file to find the following line:
          var startup = function (modes, msgMode, advancedConfig) {
        3. Add two lines that define modes and msgMode so that it looks like this:
          var startup = function (modes, msgMode, advancedConfig) {
          modes = 2;
          msgMode = 2;

        4. Save and close the file.
        5. Restart the IIS machine.
