What's New in vCenter Support Assistant 6.0.1

This version addresses the glibc getaddrinfo stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability that was discovered in earlier versions of this product. For your security, VMware recommends that you install this upgrade as soon as possible.

Update to vCenter Support Assistant 6.0.1

When updating vCenter Support Assistant from version 5.5 or older to version 6.0.1, the procedure consists of the following steps:

  1. Install the update from the VA Updates tab of the vCenter Support Assistant appliance.
  2. Log in to the vSphere Web Client and restart the vCenter Support Assistant appliance.
  3. In the Overview page of the vCenter Support Assistant appliance, start the Reinstall wizard and follow the steps.
