Resolved Issues
The ThinApp 5.2.1 release resolves the following issues:
- Some ThinApped applications crash while using non-English files.
Resolution: This issue is resolved in ThinApp 5.2.1.
- ThinApped Internet Explorer and Java plugins require UAC elevation to work and generate security prompt if UAC is enabled.
Resolution: This issue is resolved in ThinApp 5.2.1.
- The Thindirect.admx file contains typos that cause unpredictable behavior of the GPO.
Resolution: This issue is resolved in ThinApp 5.2.1.
- ThinApp ignores numbered updates to AppLinked packages.
Resolution: This issue is resolved in ThinApp 5.2.1.
- SetupCapture fails to launch snapshot.exe on Windows 10 machines.
Resolution: This issue is resolved in ThinApp 5.2.1.
- Update required for OpenSSL version used in decoding license.
Resolution: This issue is resolved in ThinApp 5.2.1.
- The AppCheck scan for ThinApp flags the glib 2.12.12 and pcre 7.7 vulnerable libraries used in SetupCapture.exe.
Resolution: This issue is resolved in ThinApp 5.2.1.
- ThinApped Internet Explorer 8 crashes at launch on Windows 10 machines.
Resolution: This issue is resolved in ThinApp 5.2.1.

Known Issues
The following issues are known to occur in the ThinApp 5.2.1 release:
- ThinApped Internet Explorer 11 fails to start on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems.
Workaround: None.
- Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) is not supported on Windows XP operating systems.
Workaround: None.
- ThinApped Internet Explorer 6.0 fails to open some specific URLs.
Workaround: Add the following parameter in Package.ini build options: [BuildOptions]
NotificationDLLs=T2embed.dll

If Protected View is enabled in ThinApped Microsoft Excel 2013, it will fail to open files from a network path.
Workaround: Disable protected view from File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Protected View > Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations.

ThinApped Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013 fail to launch when deployed to a system with Microsoft Office natively installed.
Workaround: For more information, see KB article 2107369.

Unable to launch ThinApped Google Chrome from a network share.
Workaround: Add SetVirtualModuleFileNameInPeb=1 to Package.ini and rebuild the package.

ThinApped Microsoft Visio 2010 help files are not displayed on 64-bit operating systems.
Workaround: Apply the workaround in KB article 2091911.
- ThinApped 32-bit Internet Explorer 10 does not work on Windows 8.1 operating systems (32-bit and 64-bit).
Workaround: None.

ThinApp 5.2.1 does not support any 16-bit applications on Windows 8 machines.
- If you attempt to start two ThinApped instances of virtual Microsoft Word 2013 or Microsoft Power Point 2013, they will become unresponsive.
Workaround: None.

ThinApp fails to build packages on Windows 7 x86 English operating systems if you change the Outdir parameter in Package.ini and replace it with any of the following language characters:
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
- Japanese
- Korean
Workaround: None.
- ThinApp cannot change registry key names on Windows 8 x86 operating systems.
Workaround: None.
- When you start ThinApped AutoCAD on Windows 7 64-bit operating systems, the following error message is displayed:
PresentationFontCache.exe - Application Error
Workaround: None.
- ThinApped Visual Studio 2010 displays the following error message:
Invalid license data. Reinstall is required on launch.

Unable to open web pages using ThinApped Internet Explorer 8 or later versions on Windows 10 machines.
Workaround: Apply the workaround provided in KB article 2137873.

When you mark a website as favorite in a ThinApped Internet Explorer browser, you cannot immediately view it in the Favorites Bar.
Workaround: Add a ##Attributes.ini file in the %Common Favorites% folder in the Internet Explorer project. To this file, add the following entry and build the project.

Fatal Application Exit error occurs when you launch ThinApped 64-bit Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 or Microsoft Word 2010 on a Windows 10 machine.
Workaround: Add the ChildProcessEnvironmentException=msiexec.exe in Package.ini and build the project.

COMDLG32.dll error appears when ThinApped applications are run from a network share.
Workaround: In the General Parameters section of Package.ini, set ProcessExternalNameBehavior=Original and SetVirtualModuleFileNameInPeb=1. Rebuild the package.
