Description:

Virtual extensible LAN (VXLAN) is a network encapsulation mechanism that enables virtual machines to be deployed on any physical host, regardless of the host™s network configuration. This paper evaluates VXLAN performance to demonstrate that vSphere 5.1 is readily able to host network-intensive applications on VXLAN without a significant drop in performance.
