Description:

High performance computing (HPC) helps scientists and engineers solve complex problems with powerful compute resources and high speed interconnects. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in virtualizing HPC environments, particularly due to its value for improving scientific productivity, through capabilities such as data and resource isolation, efficient infrastructure utilization, effective resource management, greater flexibility and good performance. This paper evaluates latencies of remote direct memory access (RDMA) and the Message Passing Interface (MPI) library using Mellanox FDR InfiniBand adaptors in passthrough mode with vSphere.
