Writing code to use VMware vSphere tags can be challenging in large-scale environments. This technical paper discusses the scalability limits of tags and gives tips and tricks for writing performant tagging code in Java or PowerShell. For 7.0 U1, we have seen performance improvements in various APIs vs. 6.7. We highlight these changes throughout the paper.
