In July 2019, VMware announced its intent to acquire Uhana, which has built a real-time deep learning engine to optimize carrier network operations and application quality experience, deployable in the operator private cloud or public cloud infrastructure.
Uhana technology begins with ingesting real-time telemetry from diverse sources, including the mobile network infrastructure and applications. Real-time telemetry data is combined with operator policies, then processed along with other inputs through application specific neural networks. This delivers real-time predictive guidance that is used to optimize application QoE and network operations.
Uhana will also power intelligence and analytics for VMware Smart Assurance. The addition of Uhana technology to the VMware telco portfolio showcases VMware’s consistently growing commitment to serving the communications service provider industry and deepening intelligence in the journey to 5G.
