Roger Egan is currently the Senior Vice President of the Worldwide Tanzu Sales. In this role he leads our Global Sales, Pre-Sales, Customer Success, Services, Marketing, and go-to-market Strategy and Operations for the Modern Applications business at VMware.  

Roger joined VMware in June 2021. He brings over 30 years of sales leadership experience in both large scale and start-up technology companies. Prior to VMware, he served as Executive Vice President of Global Sales at Siemplify, and Executive Vice President of Global Sales at Docker, where he was one of the earliest employees and played a leadership role in the creation of one of the first Enterprise Container Platform companies in the industry. Roger also served as the Vice President of Channel Sales for North America at Red Hat, and in various sales leadership roles at IBM over 17 years.  

He holds an MBA in General Management from Duke University and a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Computer Information Systems from Manhattan College. He currently serves on the Board of the Voice Health Institute, where he served as the President of the Board of Directors for five years. Roger resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Christine, and his five children.
